This is a delicious, fresh, sweet white Port with notes of caramel, honey and nuts from a top producer from the Rio Torto valley.

The Krohn house style is one of elegance and refinement, as ever this LBV is excellent value. Roasted red fruits and burnt sugar on nose and palate. Excellent value.

From the exellent family run house of Wiese & Krohn. A delicious Colheita or single vintage tawny port from the excellent 2002 vintage. This young Colheita offers a wonderful balance between the colour and richness of LBV ports and the spicy, dried fruit and nuts of thier tawny counterparts.

Quinta Do Retiro Novo is Krohn's estate and Krohn makes a single Quinta Port on the good years, reserving the very best years for their vintage Ports. This 2005 Quinta Do Retiro is rich and powerful but will be more approachable at an earlier age than the Vinatge Ports.

Krohn make exceptioanl Ports and have been producing Vintage Port since 1957 and the 2003 Krohn Vinatge Port was a Gold medal winner. The 2003 has been one of the second highest scoring vintages since the legendary 1948 vintage and equal to the great 1963 vintage. A hot year across Europe producing rich, powerful Ports that will live on for many decades. Weise & Krohn are now owned by the Taylor Fladgate partnership.

Colheitas are single vintage Tawny Ports aged in cask for many years. Because of this long, slow, oxidative aging, the Port develops a rich and intense toffee, nutty, Molasses character.
