Having searched for a top class Fitou, we are delighted to find this wine from the Bertrand family. A deep earthy red and blackcurrant nose, with a dense and full bodied palate of spicy, ripe fruit.

Made to a formula developed in the early 19th Century and predominantly a blend of Picpoul and Clairette. After a period of accelerated aging in cask the blend is assembled with the addtion of herbs and spices to produce the iconic Provencal wine.

This Rivesaltes Vin Doux Naturel is a bottle aged 2002 vintage Grande Reserve. 100% Grenache Noir and with 25 years in bottle, it displays the development and tastes that you only find with extended bottle aging. Soft and smooth, this wine has a perfect balance between subtle notes of dried fruit, figs and prunes, with creamy, fresh, red fruit. Drinking superbly now, it is the perfect accompanyment to cheeses. A truly fantastic wine!
